Introduction
The Republic of Cabo Verde, commonly known as Cape Verde, is an Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of Africa An island country. It straddles 10 volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and is 570 kilometers away from the coast of West Africa. Before independence, it was a Portuguese colony. The name 'Cape Verde' means 'Green Cape' in Portuguese. The population is about 540,000 (2018). Nearly a quarter of the population lives in the capital Praia.

'Song of Freedom'-Cântico da Liberdade

'Song of Freedom' The national anthem of Cape Verde was adopted in 1996. Prior to this, the national anthem of Cape Verde was the same as that of Guinea-Bissau. The song of freedom was composed by Adalberto Higino Tavares Silva and lyrics by Amílcar Spencer Lopes.
Flag Meaning
