Introduction
The People's Democratic Republic, commonly known as Laos, is a socialist country located in the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. The capital and largest city is Vientiane Speaking in Lao, with an area of โโ236,800 square kilometers and a population of 7 million (2018), Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordering Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, Thailand and Myanmar to the west, and the Peopleโs Republic of China to the north.

'Lao National Anthem', also known as 'Lao People's Anthem', is the national anthem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It was composed by Tongdee Soontornwijit (1905-1968) in 1941, and was first adopted as the national anthem by the Kingdom of Lao in 1947. After the Phat Lao seized power in 1975, the new lyrics composed by Sisana Sisane are still in use today.

Emblem Meaning
The current Lao National Emblem has been used 1991. The pattern in the center is Pagoda, forest, rice field, hydroelectric power plant, and highway, with gears underneath. The surrounding is decorated with ears of rice. The ribbon in the middle has the name of the country written on it, and the left and right sides read 'Peace, Independence, Democracy, Reunification, Prosperity' ''. The national emblem from 1975 to 1991 has a hammer and sickle pattern.
